I don't see the point of hybrids, if it's in petrol mode, it's carrying a battery doing nothing, in electric mode, carrying a petrol engine doing nothing, for the price of a hybrid you could get a decent pure electric, plus a cheap petrol for when you need it

Could be wrong, but pretty sure the 45e uses BMWs infamous B58 engine which is a twin-scroll single turbo engine, not a twin-turbo. An absolute peach of an engine nevertheless. One of the best.

I have the X5 50e, and it's even better than the X5 45e, more powerful electric motor and slightly bigger battery. Nearly 1 secound quicker 0-60 than the 45e. I'm really enjoying it.

By coincidence, yesterday I had a ride in a Model 3 being used by a ride-share service. I do not know what specific version of the Model 3 it might have been. ( It looked new but maybe the driver just keeps it clean.) Anyway, I was distinctly uncomfortable in the rear seat. The seat is low, so my knees stuck up in the air. There was not enough room under the front seat for me to get my toes under it, which added to the awkward seating position. The ride was distinctly harsh as well. I had ridden in Model 3s two or three times when they first came out several years ago, but this was my first ride in one for several years. Riding as a rear seat passenger was a vivid reminder of how far Tesla has to go to achieve good rear seat passenger comfort. Now full disclosure, I do not know what the tires or wheel size were, so maybe it was a performance model or had larger wheels, do not know. And I am not anti-Tesla -- I owned a Model S for 8 years and enjoyed it. On the positive side, I did like the view of the center screen -- my current EV has much smaller screens, and I miss tesla's big screen, especially for using maps.

You need to find an EV that can tow and show it can be done without having to use a hybrid. Gave a thumbs up, but please leave the hybrids alone. we need solutions and show EV charging facilities that allow a caravan to stay attached.

I'm interested to see so many happy owners here. I hired one for a month, about three years ago. It was one of many EVs I tried at the time when trying to choose one. I thought a month should be long enough to learn to deal with any idiosyncrasies. I liked the size, ride and appearance. The interior was OK, but rather sparse and cheap for an expensive car (this was after the early 2021 10% price cut). I had no problems with software reliability, but I found the user interface design awful. We rarely had a journey without either my wife or me screaming abuse at the system - usually the touch screen. For example, the only way to zoom the touch screen satnav display is to use a two finger pinch action. Remember you are doing this on a probably bumpy road whilst trying not to take your eyes off the road. Almost every time the system would interpret it as a tap and set a new destination. So now you no longer have any guidance to your destination - good luck guessing which motorway exit to take, or where to go in the city centre. The haptic buttons on the steering wheel were equally dire. I recall that activating and setting the speed limiter required me to look down from the road about six times. Such a shame, a really nice car ruined (for me) by awful software design and related interface hardware choices.

The new update is even better, with 5 seat configuration, updated infotainment (ID7 style), more efficient drivetrain and if I remember correctly, slightly bigger battery

Hi, i drive an id3 first edition since 3,5 years now. And i totallly agree it is a nice practical car. It has had some bad review from the press. But in every day use it is pretty good.

We also considered one, but here in holland the model 3 highland was simply better value. The Highland feels like a Tesla, a stylish taste of the future, , whereas the id3 is just a very nice fairly ordinary modern car. And very important if you do long range international driving - the Tesla Supercharger network.we drove from Holland to spain (4 countries) with zero range anxiety because ALL of the 10 stops (approx) there and back 3000km or more had tesla chargers which all worked perfectly and were mostly in interesting locations. No need to charge overnight anywhere eirher because there was always a tesla charger the nect day within range and the car of course calculates that into the trip, and preconditions the battery by the time you get there. Our previous electric car had no access to the supercharger network so chargers abroad can definitely be more stressful... You payment method or charge cards may not work and the charging process is far less reliable. Tesla chargers work the same way for all Tesla's worldwide. Just plug them in. No payment or charge cards necessary. Amazing.

Having just bought the Hyundai, which i do love. But i would add a category for being annoying to drive as it beeps and corrects my driving in a way that drives me bonkers. compared to my i3 which you just get in and drive, this has a matron conducting me and i find that the buttons to enable the cruise control stupid.

My current and first Tesla is a Model X. I test drove the newest Model X, then priced a slightly used one. Went with the 2021. My first road trip was over 749 miles ( US) each way. It was unbelievably comfortable. I’m a personal n who likes speed so I’m not too terribly concerned about efficiency. After all I came out of a 2008 RR Sport supercharger. The Y is nice, but it doesn’t compare. Also I love my automatic door feature.

May I suggest when making the next video you know what the controls do and how to get into the car. I was half expecting you to ask how much room there was in the back.
